NASHVILLE NAMED HOST CITY FOR Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME NORTH AMERICAN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER

Konami to Hold Two FREE Last Chance Qualifiers for Dragon Duelists

Attendees Can Meet Several of the Voice Actors from the Original Yu-Gi-Oh! Series

El Segundo, Calif. (June 24, 2015) – Nashville is commonly referred to as Music City, but for three days in June, it will be regarded as “Yu-Gi-Oh! City!” With bragging rights on the line, the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) North American World Championship Qualifier (WCQ) 2015 and North American Dragon Duel World Championship Qualifier (for those born 2002 or later) rolls into Nashville, Tennessee June 27-28.

Presented by Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI), the North American World Championship Qualifiers are premier-level Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG competitive tournaments leading up to the two Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championships in Kyoto, Japan. The Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG is a game made famous by the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga and animated TV series.
The first place through sixth place finishers from the North American WCQ and first and second place finalists in the North American Dragon Duel WCQ will be invited to the World Championships in Kyoto, Japan in August 2015. The winners from both WCQs will receive paid travel and accommodations, along with a host of other prizes listed below, and the title of “North American Champion 2015.”

The North American WCQ and North American Dragon Duel WCQ are both an invitation-only event, but there is hope for those that haven’t yet qualified. On Friday, June 26, KONAMI will host a Last-Chance Qualifier for Duelists trying to earn an invite to the WCQ. Only Duelists who do not already have an invite to the WCQ may participate in the Last Chance WCQ. The actual WCQ itself will begin on Saturday, June 27. In addition, KONAMI will be holding two FREE Last Chance Qualifiers for Dragon Duel competitors (for those born in 2002 or later) on Friday at 11:00 a.m. and again 2:00 p.m.

Pre-registration for the North American WCQ and North American Dragon Duel WCQ events will run from 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26 and registration will continue promptly at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, with Round One starting at 10:00 a.m. Every registered Duelist will receive a World Championship Qualifier Game Mat and a pack of World Championship Qualifier Card Sleeves.
